VENTRILO SETUP
Below you will find image screenshots on how to setup Ventrilo to work. It is a basic walk through that should work for the majority of the computers out there. However, should you need more assistance, please refer to the FAQ section here for a more detailed description of problems and solutions. Section 1
Please check "Use Push to Talk Hotkey". Click in the hotkey box and then click any key on the keyboard that you want to use to turn on your chat. I use Left-Ctrl key as it is not used that often. This key will represent clicking a Talk button on a walkie talkie. As long as you hold this key down you will be able to broadcast what you say.
Section 2
Depending on what time of sound card you have, you might have to play around with the drop downs. Chances are, it will already be configured on the install. Your computer in the sound section of the control panel will list what devices are being used for outbound and inbound sounds. If you can not get Ventrilo to work initially, this would be a good starting place
Section 3
This adjust the sound coming in from Ventrilo and the sound that you are broadcasting. If people are complaining that you are coming in too low on their speakers, then you can increase the outbound level to increase the volume. Same goes for incoming sounds that are too low, increase the inbound level.
*** Make sure that your microphone on your computer is not muted. This is a typical error many fall victim too.
