Default d6 Space Rulebook (RTF Format)

OK...I've been been converting the D6 Space rulebook into RTF format in order to make it available to any folks who want to customize it with their own house rules.

I've tried to eliminate the use of formatting incompatible with Rich Text Format, even though this means that embedded styles are lost and it is difficult to format tables with tab spacing. I've previewed the document in WordPad and it looks OK. The only fonts that are used in the document are Century Gothic and Times New Roman to maximize cross-platform compatibility.

I've posted a preview of the RTF edition consisting of the first nine chapters on Rapidshare for folks to look at and let me know what they reckon - hopefully I'll finish cleaning up the rest of the book in the next few days:

Once I've got the rulebook in RTF format, it should be trivial to make it available in a range of other formats. Would any of the following formats be useful to people:
    • ePub and Mobibook for viewing on mobile e-book devices such as the Kindle
    • MS Word format with embedded styles to make reformatting the document easy
    • Open Document (ODT) format with embedded styles to make reformatting easy.
    • Print-friendly PDF format with no artwork but a full set of bookmarks
    • HTML / XHTML

It is also up on Unifieduniverse.com if anyone is having problems getting it off of rapidshare.

Hopefully I'll post an updated version of the document today - I've just finished cleaning up the next few chapters. The example skill difficulties chapter had a lot of fiddly small tables in it...

I took a quick glance at it just now and it looks pretty good! Clean and easy to read formatting too. I can see it being pretty handy to have an easy-to-edit rtf like that. Thanks for putting the work in!

I've updated the preview of the RTF version of D6 Space to the end of Chapter 16. I've also corrected a few minor spelling and formatting bugs in the previous version.

The new version can currently be downloaded here:

Please let me know any suggestions for improvement that you might have.

Is anyone working on RTFing adventure and fantasy as well? I was thinking of going into these after they are in RTF and creating a online SRD by taking out all of the PI stuff and leaving the OGL crunchy bits. Would people be interested in this? I would put it up as a rtf and if I can get someone to host it, cough D6 Resurrection cough ack, I would also hyperlink up a copy as a online hypertexted version maybe.

I have uploaded it to http://unifieduniverse.com/ if anyone is having problems getting it off of rapidshare.

There is also http://sycarion.com/static/sixsidedf.html for the fantasy book.

Ultimately I'd love to convert all of the OGL books to RTF format, but this will take a while - cleaning up the text is very time-consuming (especially those chapters that contain lots of fiddly tables). I was thinking that once I finish Space, I'd move on to Space Ships since the two books kind of go together, but I'm open to other suggestions.
